What is the Best Machine to Clean Tile Floors?

What is the best machine to clean tile floors? You might imagine that the ideal option is some oversized piece of equipment. But are big, expensive machines the right option for your business? Probably not.

Don’t worry — we aren’t suggesting that you go back to an old-fashioned mop and bucket. Instead, check out the Intelligent Design Manufacturing (IDM) line of floor-cleaning machines. Our machines are more compact and economical than over-priced commercial options and more sanitary and efficient than a simple mop.

Let’s take a closer look at why our devices are the best option to clean your tiles.

The Importance of Clean Floors

When you own a business, every little decision you make can impact your brand image. That includes cleaning (or not cleaning) your floors.

Your customers notice the small details when they walk into your location, including the condition of your tile and grout. If your floors are dingy or look like they haven’t been cleaned in a decade, you risk creating a poor impression. And it might be the only impression you get a chance to make.

Keeping your floors clean will help you bolster your brand image. Cleaning your tile also promotes a safe work environment, as dirty floors can be slippery and contribute to falls.

Upping your cleaning game will also help you maintain a more sanitary workplace, which is crucial in industries such as healthcare, food and beverage, and manufacturing.

Why Other Cleaning Options Don’t Cut It

Many machines on the market are designed to clean tile floors and break up tough stains, but the typical cleaning equipment has deficiencies or is not a good investment. Consider the challenges with other products.

Expensive

Large ride-on floor scrubbers often cost $15,000 or more, making them too costly for many businesses. Even if you can foot the bill, why waste money if a better option exists?

Comparatively, cheaper options you might find in a big-box store come with hidden costs that will offset any savings you enjoy. For example, a budget floor scrubber might save you money upfront, but it will likely need to be replaced faster than an industrial machine, increasing your total cost of ownership.

Even standard mops and buckets can be expensive in the long run, as you’ll frequently need to replace spent mop heads. In fact, larger facilities may need to replace their mop heads weekly. Talk about throwing away money.

Bulky

One of the most significant issues with commercial scrubbers is their size. Bulky scrubbers can be tough to maneuver through your facility. Sure, you can clean major hallways and large rooms, but what about smaller spaces? You’ll need to break out the mop bucket to get those hard-to-reach areas. Talk about inefficient!

Bulky equipment also creates other challenges. For example, a ride-on scrubber might disrupt customers’ movement or interfere with your company’s day-to-day operations.

If you still think a large floor scrubber will work best for your facility, make sure you have somewhere to store it. Chances are that space is already at a premium, meaning you may find it tough to settle on a convenient storage location.

Inefficient

Each traditional scrubbing option presents different efficiency issues. For instance, ride-on scrubbers can quickly clean large areas but not small spaces. That means your team will have to switch to another less effective option, like a mop.

Buying a generic portable scrubber seems simple, but it leaves you with one of two problems.

1. Most portable scrubbers have a short battery life, meaning you’ll be racing to finish cleaning before the battery dies.

2. If you opt for a corded scrubber, your staff will have to hassle with a 50–100-foot cord. And using corded equipment isn’t just frustrating — it can also create a tripping hazard.

Wasteful

Traditional scrubbers use lots of water and cleaning solution. As such, they’ll increase your cleaning costs by rapidly consuming supplies. Using equipment that emits too much water is wasteful and makes cleaning less efficient because floors that are too wet take longer to dry.

Your staff spends enough time cleaning your tile floors. The last thing they need is to waste even more waiting on floors to dry so they can be used again.

Consider Our Line of Super-Efficient Floor Scrubbers

Intelligent Design Manufacturing manufactures highly efficient floor care equipment. Our core line includes high-quality floor scrubbers that are compact, powerful, maneuverable, and easily storable.

These scrubbers use an orbital motion to break up tough stains, then the system vacuums up excess fluid to speed up drying time.

All our scrubbers are cordless to maximize convenience and incorporate superior battery technology, ensuring you get plenty of use out of your IDM equipment.

We understand that the needs of every business are unique. That’s why IDM offers three different floor scrubbers. Our lineup of scrubbers includes the following.

X-Scrub Mini

The X-Scrub Mini is our most compact option. It’s a single-pad floor scrubber with a scrubbing head that can rotate 360 degrees.

The X-Scrub Mini is best used on LVT, epoxy floors, and ceramic tile. It has an 11-inch cleaning path, and the brush head is powered by a 36-volt, 5.2 amp motor that can run continuously for 90 minutes.

The X-Scrub Mini is also our most budget-friendly option. Despite its excellent price point, it packs plenty of punch. This scrubber can reach tight spaces and break up set-in dirt.

Our smallest scrubber is particularly useful for small businesses but can also be a good fit for larger buildings. If you manage a big commercial building, consider pairing it with one of our larger scrubbers to maximize cleaning efficiency.

X-Scrub Pro

Need something a little more powerful? If so, we recommend the X-Scrub Pro. This scrubber has a pair of counter-rotating brushes; each brush head is 8.5 inches wide.

The X-Scrub Pro can clean any type of hard floor, thanks to its 36-volt, 10.4 amp motor. The battery provides 60 minutes of continuous run time, and you can clean floors fast with its 17-inch cleaning path.

We offer multiple pad options for the X-Scrub Pro:

  • Soft brushes are great for cleaning finished floors.
  • More aggressive brushes can be used to restore tile floors.

The X-Scrubber Pro has five times the capacity of the X-Scrub Mini. It also has a durable cast housing, making this scrubber ideal for industrial applications.

X-Scrub Max 20

The X-Scrub Max 20 is our largest floor scrubber. It has a 20-inch cleaning path and can tackle the toughest messes. It also boasts a 15-gallon solution tank with a 15-gallon recovery tank to match.

The X-Scrub Max 20 is a walk-behind floor scrubber. However, it has a narrow housing to allow users to maneuver easily in tight spaces. It has a 4.5-hour continuous run time, meaning your team will have plenty of time to get your tile floors looking great.

Our largest scrubber best suits expansive facilities, including warehouses, hospitals, and airports.
